Jack the Ripper is the best-known name for an unidentified serial killer generally believed to have been active in the largely poor areas around London in 1888. He killed 5 (or possibly 6) women who had worked as prostitutes.
The first murder, of Mary Ann Nicholls, took place on 31 August. Annie Chapman was killed on 8 September. Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddoweson were murdered 30 September and Mary Jane Kelly on 9 November.
There has been much speculation to the identify killer. It has been suggested that he or she was a doctor or butcher. It was based on the evidence of weapons and the mutilations that occurred. In addition, the drawing and the letters which was drawn by someone, have been hoaxes.
Some people are suggested as Jack but definitive evidences were not found actually. The murderer has not been found yet. It's still in mystery.
This topic is so curious for me. When I was younger, I just knew the name but I wanted to know what Jack the Ripper did and who he is. I have watched movie about Sherlock Holmes. I want to travel to London in England to feel the atmosphere. I think this mystery have to be still shadowy and vague.
